Have been to this salon twice. First was to get a "curly girl" haircut and then to get a facial. The staff is fabulous, friendly, approachable, and professional. The location in downtown Portsmouth is on the second floor and a wall of windows overlooks the ocean. I've had "curly girl" cuts in the past and this one was right up there with the best. It's a special haircut for naturally curly hair and the technician has to be specially trained. Price was very reasonable and when I tried to tip, she said "no tipping lease". They build their business on referrals. My facial was a concentrated Vitamin C brightening.I could not believe my skin when done. Felt smooth and actually glowed. I was thrilled and will be back for another in a couple months. Nothing negative about 6 Degrees...week!

What is not to love about this Salon! Everything is top notch. My Stylist, Reilly was friendly, professional, caring and gave me a great cut/color & blow dry. The view is the best in Portsmouth and the salon is meticulously maintained. To my surprise at checkout, there was no tipping allowed per the Owner. The Stylist was very supportive of this as she noted "What great care the Owner takes in caring for the Staff" and that "She wouldn't work anywhere else". I stumbled upon this spot as I needed services on a Tuesday afternoon and was so delighted with the whole experience. I will definitely be back to visit this Uniquely fabulous Salon again!!!
I went in to 6 degrees today and had the best haircut of my life. I had Sherry and when she asked me where I had been going, I told her that I have been to many salons and I haven't had a decent haircut in years. She explained a lot helpful things to me about how to maintain the cut and style it. The cut itself is as close to perfect as you can get. Lot's of body and layers with beautiful soft bangs. Exactly what I wanted. And the price! $50 bucks for a cut!!! I am a lifelong customer. Although, they advised 3 weeks advance for an appointment. I got on the waitlist and it took 3 days. Worth every minute and every dollar. I would have paid twice!
It's been a couple weeks since my haircut at 6 degrees. I was intentionally waiting on writing this so I could give the most unbiased review possible because I walked out of there feeling like I'd just had the best haircut of my life. I felt so good that I wasn't sure if it was the nice people, the beauty of the salon, the welcoming environment or the head massage I got while I was being shampooed that was impressing me more than the quality of the haircut itself. Well, it was all of it. Weeks later and I still felt like it was the best quality haircut I've ever got. AND, because they don't accept tips, I didn't have to pay more than I would anywhere else, but I got a far better experience and cut than I would get anywhere else.
In addition, they didn't try to push or sell other services or products. I asked about the hair straightening and for once I got an explanation of how it actually worked- what happens and why. Also, I asked what the difference was between the pricey hair care they sell and what I can buy at the drugstore, and again - for once - I got an answer, a REAL answer that explains the science behind it. She didn't do what most other salons do and just tell me that the shampoos and conditioners they sell are "the best". Instead, she explained what the best shampoos are made of and why and never said that the products they sell are the only ones that are good, but explained what makes shampoos good and what to look for.
