You should know by now that perception meets reality. You get what you pay for and if you lift heavy objects or use a dip belt, don't bother. No, it doesn't make you a meat head- just move along and find an actual gym where sweating isn't frowned upon.
I travel all over the USA and I have the Black Membership. I am in different Planet Fitness gyms all over the USA and this has by far been the worst to date! The only word I can use to describe this gym is "scanky." The locker smells like a week-old, dirty gym sock. All the equipment I used were very worn and old. Weight machines were not tight. I had to try multiple elliptical machines before I found one that did not shut off halfway through the routine. The handlebars on the bikes are worn smooth and most of the cup holders are missing. I did not realize the cup holder problem until I (as I naturally do) set my water in the cup holder... Only to have it fall right through to the ground. I stared in disbelief at what just happened and it took a minute for it to set in. I figured that maybe someone accidentally took it with their bottle and I switched machines only to find both cup holders were missing. It was then that I realized that the majority on all the bikes were missing. Needless to say, I will never return to this specific Planet Fitness. They are a shame to the franchise. Members who are happy with this gym obviously never frequent other Planet Fitness gyms and don't know how poor the quality of this gym truly is!
They are redoing the gym but say it's open when they take all the strength training equipment away including free weights. This place is a joke
They were a novelty a long time ago before all the national news media got wind of a lot of their antics and they expanded beyond New Hampshire. Hey I'll hand it to them (hence the one star upgrade): their strategy has worked less far; they cater to the typical non-gym rat who has next-to-no motivation, who is only all too happy to see the pretty equipment, free tanning, free junk food, and only be $10 lighter in the wallet each month. Then comes the predictable lack of motivation and the equipment doesn't get utilized and worn down as fast; the person stops coming and PF collects their $10 every month.

I have been a member here since the very beginning. This gym has all the basics, great hours, good equipment convenient location and a wonderful staff. I have referred many of my patients here and it is very inexpensive.
They are renovating this gym currently so hopefully that will upgrade a lot of elements for this gym. My guess is this PF is old and one of the originals. If you're black card and have been around the USA don't get your hopes up as this gym will probably disappoint. But if you just want a gym to work out at for cheap then sign your ass up.
