This was a very retro atmosphere and the food was great. If you want that Johnny Rockets ambiance (minus the jukebox) but with food that is 1000x better, come here. I had the croissant sandwich and my boyfriend had a standard egg platter. What's also great is they serve booze! I had a bloody Mary that was pretty good! I wish we had gone on a Sunday because they have a "Build your own Bloody Mary" station.
A retro diner with a surprisingly deep menu. From the music to the variety of classic soda fountain drinks, this place oozes style. The menu features their pulled pork pretty prominently in something like 8 dishes - their lumberjack chili and scratch-made corned beef hash are also must-try. But there are less obvious but no less delicious gems, from the Cuban sandwich to the purple cow (ask your server about it!).
We arrived around 1:30 pm for lunch. My family is my wife and myself and twin 9 year old daughters our 10 year old son. It seemed like we were bothering our hostess by her facial expression and attitude. She asked if we wanted a table or a booth. There were two empty 6 person booths right in front of us, so we asked for a booth. Instead of getting them we were led to the back room and seated near the bar at a set of two tables with a booth seat on one side and chairs on the other. Not a booth in my mind. My back was facing the bar and TV there and my wife and daughters sat facing the bar. It was Halloween and most of the TVs were showing a sports show, but the one behind the bar was showing American Horror Story. We asked them to change it, but it was too late, my one of daughters saw something that disturbed her so much she could not eat. We've eaten here before, but I will never take my children here again and perhaps never return myself.
Great service. Food average at best, but nothing to write home about. Too big for its own good. I wasn't disappointed, but I won't go out of my way to eat here again.
When you're driving here, the diner is right off the roundabout so make sure you keep an eye out for it. We drove right past it.
Diner food is diner food. You get plenty and it's pretty good eating as well. I had the Wednesday Prime Rib Special. Cooked the way I asked, came with potatoes ( a little to wet and sloppy) and fresh carrots. They are supposed to be known for homemade banana pie; not so great....Take the kids, the booths comfortably can fit 6. I recommend this place...
